Why we only treat men

Men are the fastest growing group in aesthetics and almost every clinic treats them as an add-on. That is the gap, and it is not really a clinical one.

GMC-registered doctors

Same price for every man

Nothing to pay to book

The argument

Men are roughly 15 to 20% of injectable patients in the UK, and the fastest-growing group in the category. Almost every clinic treats them as an add-on: a page on a website, a paragraph on a price list, a slightly awkward hour in a room designed for somebody else.

That is the problem, and it is not really a clinical one. It is that most men will not walk into a room that was not built for them, will not ask the questions they want to ask, and will not admit to their mates that they have thought about it. So they either do nothing, or they go somewhere cheap and unregulated because it feels less exposing than going somewhere good.

We built a clinic where none of that is necessary. Every patient here is a man. Every result on the wall is a man. Every price is published, so nobody has to ask. And the whole appointment is designed so you never have to justify being there.

There is a clinical argument too, and it is real. Male faces need different doses and different angles. Male skin is thicker. Male muscle mass in the forehead and jaw is greater. A male jawline is widened and squared where a female jawline is lifted and softened. Doing male faces all day, every day, makes you better at male faces.

What we do differently

Four things, and all four are checkable.

  • One price list. Published, flat, the same for everyone. Nothing added at the chair.
  • No man tax. Several London clinics charge men more for the same treatment. We do not.
  • No consultation fee and no deposit. Come in, talk to a doctor, decide.
  • Doctors only. Every treatment, every time.
Who we are

Founded by doctors. Run as a chain.

SkinBros was founded by two doctors who got tired of watching men be treated as an afterthought in their own appointments.

The doctor who treats you is named on this site, with his GMC number, so you can check him on the medical register before you walk in. Every treatment is done by a doctor. Never a nurse, never a therapist.

We are not CQC-registered, and we do not claim to be. The treatments we do at this stage sit outside CQC registration, and a clinic that claims accreditation it does not hold is telling you something about itself.

Treating doctor, SkinBros 001 GMC 7451090 GDC 290115

Dr Richard Umasuthan is qualified as both a medical doctor and a dental surgeon: medicine at St George's, University of London, then dentistry at King's College London, with a master's degree in implantology on top. His whole career has been spent on the head and neck, including years in oral and maxillofacial surgery, which is the same anatomy these treatments work on. He is known for a calm, unhurried manner, especially with men who are nervous about needles.

You can check him on the medical register yourself: the GMC number above links straight to his entry on the General Medical Council's website.

The question we get asked

"Why not women?"

Because doing one thing properly beats doing two things adequately, and because a men-only room is the entire reason a lot of our patients came in at all.

If you are a woman and you book with us, we will look after you like anyone else. We just do not market to women and we do not plan to.
